Tanya Jenkins

Tanya established her own Environmental Education and Promotion Consultancy in 1994, the first consultancy of its kind, providing teaching resources and advisory services for a range of bodies from international corporations to local organisations and schools.

As Education Officer for Environment Canterbury in the early nineties, Tanya introduced the concept of Seaweek to the regional council, a week-long event now celebrated throughout New Zealand every March.

Tanya was a founding member of Marine Watch NZ, establishing a rescue team for stranded mammals and seabirds, for which she has attended hundreds of call outs.
